What do the numbers 6x30 mean on binoculars?
Answered By Brent Trumbauer, Editor
6x30 signifies the capacity of a certain
binocular or any telescope. 6x is the
magnification power. This means that you can
see 6 times bigger the normal unaided eye can
see. 30 is the resolution which includes the
brightness. Lenses have the capacity to let
or bar light pass through it. When a light is
barred, it creates a dimmer scene. That
means, the lower the number the lower the
resolution.
