Purchasing The Right Pair Of Binoculars - The Buyers Handbook

by Michael Skatoli

Binoculars are known to be extremely useful tools for many different activities. From bird watching down to astronomy, binoculars have been developed for many uses, other than just looking across the street in your neighbor's window.

There are a multitude of uses that make getting a set a very smart purchase. Also, some of them can even fit in your pocket! Binoculars are produced in different sizes and strengths depending on the desired use. Binoculars are a great tool for things like:

* Hunting for various species * Astronomy * Theater Viewing * Nature Watching * Viewing the Sea * Boating * Saltwater Fishing * Watching a live Sporting Event

Binoculars have many uses and so have many different prices. They differ in durability, use, and size. There are many aspects that make binoculars different between uses. To begin with, there are two main styles of binoculars that vary in strength. The two main kinds of binoculars are:

* Porro Prism - This kind are the most common. Porro prism binoculars consist of two front lenses with prisms behind them. The light reflects from the prisms and bends back into the eye pieces.

* Roof Prism - Roof prism binoculars are far stronger and high-end and typically cost more than porro prism binoculars. Roof prisms are set up the same way as porro prism binoculars but are a lot stronger. They look similar to two telescopes butted up to each other and they actually are just that.

Outside of the two differences in binoculars, there are also different lenses, lens coating, kinds of prisms, eye piece, magnification, and lens diameter. These pieces of binoculars are essential in the strength of the binoculars. The very precise manufacturing of these amazing pieces of technology is very interesting. Measuring the precise magnification takes a lot of precision and includes the use of heavy machines and precision tools. Binoculars are extremely amazing gadgets and vary in distance ability. Therefore, the price has a wide margin from brand to brand and type to type.

Binoculars come in all different shapes, sizes, power, and price. The price range for these powerful tools is typically set between $50 and $2,000. Binoculars are not only fun for individuals but are also very important for the military. Some binoculars are developed to withstand water for under and above water use. In addition, there are amazing binoculars that you can see through at night. Night vision goggles or binoculars are also used by cops or other groups that need to see objects at night. Also, long sight binoculars can be mounted to a pier or oceanside ledge to provide easy and unmoving viewing from one land to another. These high powered goggles can also be used in on the roof or in a garden to view breathtaking nature. These technological sight aids can see very far away, like stated above some are strong enough to see into space.
